May Blog Projects

Like most people, I am blogging to record events and stories of my little family to share with family and friends around the world and with my children when they are older. I am new to blogging but not new to reading blogs.  I am so amazed by what I have read and learned from various blogs written mostly by women and mostly mothers. I have been inspired, cried, laughed, learnt how to cook, bake, save money etc and read things that makes me want to be a better mother, a better wife - to be the best 'me' I can be. There are so many talented people out there and I think it's so wonderful and generous that through their blogs they want to share their talents and real life stories with others and help strangers. I could literally search the blogesphere all day but with a 2 years old and 4 month old twins, my time is pretty limited. However, I have found two 'projects' that I want to challenge myself to do and blog about. They are:

Fat Mum Slim's Photo A Day Challenge
This is a photo a day challenge. Each day you look at the May list given by Fat Mum Slim and there will be a prompt that corresponds with the date of the month.  You then share the photo on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, your blog, Pinterest, Flickr or where ever you want to share it. It's a fun way to be creative every day and it's so much fun to be part of. Anyone can play {even if you haven't played before - like me}.

Happy Days in May Project
This encourages women and bloggers to record one sentence a day about what was making them happy during that day for one whole month in May. This project is about reflection and finding happiness and gratitude in every day.

"One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy.

One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself."

{Gretchin Rubin}

Both challenges encourage me to blog and record my life in two different ways. I am excited and motivated! If you're up to it - join in! :)

When we became a family of 5

On 1 December 2011, our family became complete when our beautiful twins Montana Rose Boavida Asekona and Lucas Orlando Halo Boavida Asekona were born. With big sister Keira Olandina Boavida Asekona who had just turned 2 a few days before, we became a family of 5! Wow, what a blessing to have delievered two healthy twin babies and to have 3 beautiful children. They really are  a blessing and what a dream come true to have a little family of my own.

This is the twins announcement card with all the details of their birth. The card was designed by the photographer Nikki @ Virtual Memories Photography as a part of a newborn photoshoot Christmas present from Aunty Flavia, Aunty Tildy and Aunty Lia xo

Our first family picture as a family of 5. This was taken the day after I gave birth via c-section hence why I look a little dazed out. I'm holding  our newborn son Lucas. Daddy Damien looks really proud holding our newborn daughter Montana (there were 3 people taking photos of us) and Keira looks disinterested. That was her initial reaction to meeting the twins - she kind of ignored them until about Day 3 when she finally touched them.
